Solar Radiation Storm Report 10-29-2013

The recent high-M and X-flare activity has raised the threat of solar radiation storms this week. Indeed the X1-flare on 28 October spawned a weak radiation storm that is currently bathing Earth in increased penetrating proton radiation. The storm has yet to reach NOAA’s S1 radiation storm alert level so it is mild, but effects are still being seen at high latitudes.
