Major Solar Flare Detected
A major solar measuring X1.2 was detected on Tuesday afternoon peaking at 18:30 UTC and remains in progress. The source of the eruption was region 1943, located in close proximity to sunspot 1944. Because the flare appears to be long in duration, a coronal mass ejection is possible. The eruption site is in a great geoeffective position for Earth directed eruptions. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
